Welcome to my website! I am a PhD Candidate in Department of Political Science and a Graduate Affiliate of Institute of Behavioral Science (Environment and Society Program) at University of Colorado Boulder. My research centers on environmental and energy politics, public policy, political economy, and research methods.Â
The current emphases of my research are trade-offs in decisions and policies around sustainable energy transitions and technologies, strategies in energy/climate policy and institutional options, and policy processes focusing on feedback, design, and policy innovation. As my dissertation and book project, I examine how institutional differences, including related specific policies and a comprehensive pro-climate energy policy regime, can shape sustainable and clean energy transition across states of the United States and countries. My research has been published or is forthcoming at Politics & Policy, Journal of Political Institutions and Political Economy, Journal of Political Science Education, and Korean Journal of International Studies among other outlets.
Please feel free to explore my website and contact me at hyodong.sohn@colorado.edu with any questions and/or future collaborations.
